First Day

May 22-

Our first full day together held so many expectations, but in reality we all just needed to get through it.

Nobody slept well the “first night.”  Jeff and I rarely sleep through the night here, and she was awake during the night too.  As a consequence, she slept until 8:00 on her first morning, which is late for her schedule.  We had an appointment and eventually woke her up, which didn’t go over well.  The kids usually cry on their first morning, waking up in a new place anyway.

Since we’d missed breakfast during our crying spell, our guide asked Hannah what she wanted for lunch.

Noodles? No.

Rice? No.

I threw in- Pizza? No.

Hamburger? Yes!

So back to McDonald’s Jeff went.  (McDonald’s is great, because it’s one less decision we have to make during the day!)

Hannah was feeling like her new parents were exhausting her so she took a 3 hour nap.

Afterwards, we played all our toys over and, finally, had noodles and fried rice for dinner.
